ABOUT GOOD DISTILLATIONS COMPANY

GOOD* Distillations Company started the way a lot of good ideas do, with years of conversations between two friends—the kind you have around campfires, kitchen tables, and on long hikes—about starting something of our own. Eventually, all that talk turned into action, and we set out to build a spirits brand that felt different from everything else on the shelf.

We spent over four years working on the product, shaping the brand, and figuring out how to package it in a way that reflects our values: sustainability, simplicity, and quality without the fuss.

GOOD* is made for people who’d rather be outside than stuck behind a bar, who care about what they consume and how it’s made, but don’t need a lecture on tasting notes to enjoy a great drink.

It’s not just about what’s in the bottle—though our Weekender Wheat whisky is already earning awards right out of the gate. It’s about building a company driven by purpose: one that operates with intention, gives back more than it takes, and keeps the journey fun every step of the way.

Most of all, GOOD* is about bringing together a community of people who appreciate the outdoors, a solid pour, and the simple joy of sharing both. Whether you’re sipping on a trail, a tailgate, or a Tuesday night on your porch, we’re glad you’re here.

ABOUT WEEKENDER WHEAT WHISKY

1. Wait — what makes wheat whisky different than bourbon or rye?

Wheat creates a soft, delicate backbone—often with subtle notes of honey, vanilla, or light baking spices—while letting influences from aging barrels shine. It’s the smooth operator in the whisky world. Bourbons rely on corn for their base, which lends sweetness; ryes tend to be spicy or peppery; and barley is often malted and produces rich flavors found in many Scotch and Irish whiskies. Our recipe is 95% wheat, 5% barley.

2. Why choose wheat instead of rye or corn?

We love wheat whiskies–they’re perfect for enjoying outdoors–but they’re underrepresented and hard to find. We’re changing that.

3. Is wheat whisky a good entry point if I’m new to whisky?

Absolutely. Weekender Wheat is smooth and approachable, yet complex and full of depth.

4. Why not produce wheated bourbon?

Wheated bourbons (like Pappy Van Winkle or Maker’s Mark) often substitute wheat for rye to soften the flavor. A wheat whisky doubles down on that effect—more wheat, fewer grains—and puts the spotlight squarely on wheat's gentle sweetness.

5. Will there be less complexity than rye or barley whisky?

Wheat whisky isn’t about bold spice. Instead, it highlights subtlety and balance—caramel, vanilla, light cedar, maybe lemon or floral hints. The complexity comes from how all these gentle notes interact, rather than a punchy grain statement.

6. Is wheat whisky popular?

We think wheat whisky is often overlooked as producers focus on the wildly popular and overcrowded bourbon category. But trust us: a well-done wheat whisky is worth trying.

7 . How does it compare to other wheat whisky?

Weekender Wheat Whisky is a silver medal winner at the 2025 San Francisco World Tasting Championship, placing it among the best examples in the wheat whisky category.

ABOUT OUR PAPER BOTTLE

1. What is your paper bottle made from?
Our bottle is made from 100% recycled paperboard and features a BPA-free, food-grade liner to contain liquids safely. It's designed to be lightweight and sustainable.

2. Why are there wrinkles in my bottle?

Each bottle is made from recycled paperboard, so slight wrinkling around the neck and small gaps near glued seams are normal. These natural imperfections are part of the sustainable design—and don’t affect the quality inside.

3. Is the paper bottle waterproof?

Yes and no. The bottle features a thin plastic liner that securely holds the liquid inside. While the paperboard exterior can withstand moderate moisture, we don’t recommend putting the paperboard bottle in a river or on ice to chill for prolonged periods.

4. Can the bottle be recycled?

Absolutely. The bottle is designed for easy recycling—simply separate the liner from the paper shell. The paper can go in standard paper recycling, and the liner in plastic recycling, where facilities allow.

5. How does it compare to a glass bottle in terms of environmental impact?

Our Bottles have a 6x lower carbon footprint than traditional glass bottles. They’re also 5x lighter than glass, reducing emissions during transport (whether on a truck or on your back).

6. Will the paper bottle or liner affect the taste of the spirit?

The liner is designed to be inert, protecting the flavor of the whisky.

7. How durable is the bottle?

Despite its paper construction, the bottle is strong and sturdy enough for regular handling, shipping, and storage and tranport in your backpack or duffle bag during your adventures.

8. Can the bottle be chilled?

Yes. The bottle can be refrigerated without issue.

9. Is the bottle biodegradable?

Our paper bottle is biodegradable, but the food-grade liner inside is not—so please be sure to recycle the liner separately.

10. How should I dispose of the empty bottle?

Peel away the plastic liner and place the paperboard in your paper recycling bin. Dispose of the liner in accordance with your local plastic recycling rules.

11. How long can I store the bottle?

The liner is designed to hold alcohol for several years. However, our whisky is made to be enjoyed, and we recommend enjoying it after your next adventure.

12. Why did Good Distillations choose a Paper Bottle?

We’re committed to sustainability and reducing our environmental footprint, while also providing a portable solution for enjoying sprits in the outdoors. Our paper bottle aligns with our mission by offering a high-quality, eco-friendly alternative to traditional packaging.
